Great App

Its just perfect. I have open all the MDBs with success!

Great app!

Its easy! Its great! I Just opened the .mdb and I got my Microsoft Access database in seconds!

Bulls eye!

This tool works exactly as announced. It saved me the effort to implement a database connection through JDBC/ODBC, so it was worth every cent. It would be great to have - Oracle export formats, - and a CLI interface (for example: MDBViewer --input x.mdb --action export --output x.sql --format oracle) And another idea is to add direct import functionality to other databases - at extra charge, of course. Jacob, if you need help here, you can contact me at thomas.gutzmann at gutzmann.se. Thank you very much, Thomas

worked as described

I was able to successfully export a MDB file to an SQL dump, then import my SQL dump into my MySQL database without a problem.

Worked great on an unknown file version

Great app that worked for a export to .csv of a .mdb file of unknown version. Easy to use - it would be nice to have a cheaper version for users who only need .csv export - might help those who only need to do 1 or 2 files to a simple export buy it. Thanks for making the app!

Does the basics

This is a basic viewer for Microsoft Access .MDB tables. It allows you to view and export the tables to SQL and CSV. When viewing the data, you can resize the fields and sort by column heads. As noted in the description, you dont get access to the queries, forms or reports. A schema display would be awesome and jump the value of this app all the way up to $12.38 in my books. Also, it would be nice to have the number of records display along the bottom of the screen. Overall, worth the six bucks to get access to Access files on a Mac.

Very useful app +++

….YES! Multiple table exports are now supported. Does the job very well. Excellent speed on large dbs >1g...! Also great support….!!!

Did what I needed it to do.

I dont have access, but needed to read, sort and search an access database file. I bought the program and within five minutes of installing it had used it to open the Access database, save it as an Excel worksheet, then opened the Excel worksheet with Filemaker Pro 12. FMP instantly converted it into a FMP data base, and I sorted it by date (the date conventions worked) and found what I needed. It was worth the $18 to me on a Saturday night at 11pm! I wish I had a more complete solution to work with Access datafiles on the Mac, but you take what you can get. My thanks to the developers of MDB ACCDB Viewer.

Works Great

Works Great! Product description is accurate, program is clean, fast, and easy to use. 4 stars because it’s rather pricey. It’s a viewer, not an editor...

Does what it says on the package

Simple, efficient, does what it says on the package. I needed to access a database in Access 2003 for a clients website and convert it into MySQL. It did the trick in a bliss. The interface is simple and does not provide useless widgets. Maybe the disclaimer about the fact that the database cant be modified and that only MDB files (not the newer .accdb) are supported should be easier to see since some users might get confused. The price is just right.

dont work

My database size is 1.5Gb. That app cant open it! Give me back my money!

Help

How can i gift this app?

go ahead!

quite good but needs improvements. why cant I see every fields on my document? I would pay more if the conversion were complete. back and forth thru MAC/WIN is very annoying, especially for just one app! waiting for next release

Several useful export options

The SQL export supports MySQL, PostgreSQL & SQLite, each with 3 checkboxes: Export Structure, Include DROP TABLE, Export Countents … and a choice of the current table or all tables. Importing the data to Postgress worked fine, as did generating a SQLite file directly. The developer’s Postico is also great.

Delivered quickly as promised

I needed to convert an access database for use on the Mac. This software was able to open it with no issues. I was able to export to CSV and as excel and then import it into BASE (open office) - It even preserved the tables for me. When I had a question about how it worked - I emailed Jakob Egger - and he responded with in 30 minutes. Excellent customer service! Thanks again.

Excellent utility

Works exactly as described. Excellent tool for those who need to work with MS Access in OS X.

Work very well

Installed the app and very quickly exported several Access mdb data files to Postgresql. Simple, Fast and works.

Fills a HUGE need

I have hated going to my Windows friends and begging them to print out Access files or convert them to Excel for me. At last I dont need to. This app does what it claims and does it well.

Lifesaver and a time saver

Before discovering this program I waste an amazing amount of time trying to read an old Access database. The usual Microsoft nightmare. An older version of Access wouldnt install on my Win7 virtual machine, etc. etc. etc. Anyway, this app works as advertized. A bargain at $5.

Excellent Utility!

I have a user send me an access file monthly, before this utility, I was stuck having to go into Access in Parrallels just to export this data to a mac friendly format so I could combine this with data downloaded from their mainframe to run reports. No more, now I just use this wonderful utility to open the file from mail and export the data. It is really a gigantic time saver, no waiting on Parrallels to start, then waiting for access to start. Open email attachment in MDB Viewer, export and GO!!!!
